Hi Valeri,

It is okay to use the "8 SAMTEC  RF Connector-to-SMA bulkhead cables" to connect transducer to the board. But, you need to make few adjustments on the board to make this operational. Remove the capacitors CB51-CB58 at the LM96550's output and make sure the jumpers are placed on PS0-PS7.

Yes. The supply voltages 5V, 10V, 40V and 50V are the dual pos/neg voltages.

The +/- 5V is connected to the T/R switch (LM96530) which should draw ~20mA. The VSUB, +/-10V, +/-40V and +/-50V are connected to the LM96550 (HV Pulser).

VSUB~1mA
+50V~4mA
-50V~3mA
+10V~12mA
-10V

~8mA

The power-on and power-off sequence is the most important part.

The Power ON sequence:

1. Power on the VSUB first (can range from -65V to -55V). (most important)

2. Power up +3.3V Digital IO Voltage supply for all of the devices.

3. Power up +1.8V for the Beamformer.

4. Power up ±5V for the T/R Switch.

5. Power up ±10V for the Pulser’s Level Shifter Voltages.

6. Power up -50V 1st and then last +50V for the Pulser and ±40V are generated from +-50 V with 10V difference when ±50V are turned on.

The Power OFF sequence:

 1. Power down first +50V and then -50V for the Pulser.

2. Power down ±10V for the Pulser’s Level Shifter Voltages.

3. Power down ±5V for the T/R Switch.

4. Power down +1.8V for the Beamformer.

5. Power down +3.3V Digital IO Voltage supply for all of the devices.

6. Power down the VSUB last. (most important)

Thanks,

Rohit
