TOD in the data sheet is chip-to-chip variation spec. in a multi-chip system. For a single-chip application, all channels have same TOD for beam forming.

Hello Hon,
Single-chip application is not a problem, however, 8-channel only ultrasound scanner will be a poor quality. The minimum #of channels should be at least 32, so it requires 4 chips. As TOD is different and unknown for every chip, then it's not possible to use them as a precise beamformer. Within a single chip we have a nice resolution 0.78ns and on the other hand we loose the beamforming precision up to 15.5ns(TOD variance) when using more chips. I'm affraid it makes this device unusable for targeted applications.
