OK, here's an update. Whatever command I clock in the reply to the previous command is clocked out. That's why it appeared that MODEM_STATUS_REG and FIFO_M2D addresses appeared to be backward. So, what do I need to do to get the proper reply for the MODEM_STATUS_REG and FIFO_M2D read requests?
