Hi Mark, I'm sorry you are frustrated and are having difficulty. I will try to add some pictures in this post as I can. The COM port drivers will automatically install with Win10, but not with Win7. I think this may be your issue, or at least part of it. We have plans down the road to address this issue with older OSs to include and install the drivers. You can double check in device manager to see if there is unknown or unconnected devices. I attached a copy of the drivers but they are unsigned. This should work with Win7 as you can still install unsigned drivers in Win7.(Please visit the site to view this file) As far as the install procedure I followed the following from the previously described process on a machine (which is a Win7 machine, but with the proper drivers already installed) and the installation worked as expected including the flashing of the firmware. Below is a more detailed procedure: 1. Go to dev.ti.com, and after the page loads go to the Gallery. 2. From the Gallery search for ADS1219 3. You should see the project for the ADS1219 _BoosterPack_GUI , and select the download button. 4. From the popup box select the operating system (in my case Windows). 5. The file was downloaded to the Downloads folder as a zip file called ADS1219 _BoosterPack_GUI_1.0.0_installer_win.zip 6. Open the zip file and extract the contents, open the folder and run installer program ADS1219 _BoosterPack_GUI-1.0.0.setup-win_7.0.0.exe 7. A popup box will appear showing the install locations for both the runtime engine in the Application Directory and a Runtime Directory where the components for the GUI will be installed. Use the default settings. The GUI needs to have version 7 of the runtime engine installed. If it is not installed, another popup box will appear asking about the runtime installation. You will have a couple of choices. One is to download directly from the web. Another is if you downloaded the zip file already you can install from the file. I used the web (default) install. This was a long install with lots of components and setup. You need to be patient as depending on internet connection and PC speed this can take many minutes to install. 8. If the runtime was installed, you will be returned back to the GUI install. Once you complete the GUI install you can click Finish. 9. There may have been several options such as create a shortcut and start the program. I chose the default, and the GUI started. At this time connect the USB cable to the top port of the the MSP-EXP432E401Y LaunchPad. You should see a green power light illuminate. 10. From the GUI, select the File->Program Device option. The firmware should automatically be flashed to the LaunchPad. When this process starts you will see additional LEDs light up. The process again may take a little time to find the LaunchPad and complete the flashing. 11. Once the flashing of the firmware has completed, unplug the cable to remove the power to the board. Plug the BOOSTXL-ADS1219 to the lower set of LaunchPad connectors. The power to run the LaunchPad comes from USB. The main source is from the USB connector used to flash the firmware, but the communication comes from the bottom connector. You could use 2 cables, but if you only have one USB cable, then you will need to remove a non-used jumper on the LaunchPad and install the jumper to the power jumper block as described in the user's guide for the BOOSTXL-ADS1219 . If this is successful, then when plugging in the cable to the bottom connector you should see the power light as before. 12. Most likely the GUI will show not connected . First try clicking on the connect icon in the lower left portion of the GUI. If the board still does not connect, choose the Options -> Serial Port from the GUI menu. You should see a list of COM ports, try to find one marked AEVM1219. Choose this port and select OK and the GUI should now connect. Best regards, Bob B
